Contest at a Glance
- Who can enter: Any grower with a contest area entirely in Maryland
- Categories: State winners in Full Season, Double Crop, and Dryland
- Entry fee: $30 per entry (check or credit card)
- Plot size: Two contiguous acres in one block
- Yield checks: A designated supervising agent must: measure the test area; be present at harvest; supervise weigh-in on state-inspected scales/approved station (weigh wagon allowed on site if needed); attach the original weight ticket; and sign the report (Contact your local University of Maryland Extension, USDA, or Soil Conservation District Office to schedule)
- Deadline: All yield checks must be completed by December 15, 2025.
- Awards: Each state winner will receive a check for $1,000
- Recognition: Winners announced in January; honored at Maryland Commodity Classic on July 23, 2026 (Queen Anne’s 4-H Park, Centreville, MD)
